HOA Elections

Hey Fellow Merchant Friends,

A few weeks ago you should have received a packet in the mail with a ballot for the HOA elections.  That election is on Tuesday night. As of Tuesday only about 12 of the 100 none Lennar votes had been received.  If you are not able to attend the meeting in person a ballot was included in the packet with a 2 envelopes.  It is in all likelihood that if you tried to mail in your ballot now it may not get First Service in time to be counted so I would encourage those who have not yet mailed it to turn them in at the meeting on Tuesday.  If you can't attend that meeting please get your ballot to somebody who is able to attend.  (Yes I am going to be attending so you can drop your ballot off to me if you want.)  In order to do this you need to fill out your ballot and put it into the yellow envelope, then put that into the white return envelope and finally fill out the return address label being sure to sign on the signature line so your ballot can be counted.  If you lost your ballot or don't remember getting let me know and we can talk about how to give your proxy to somebody to vote for you on Tuesday.

Now you may be asking but Jason there are only two candidates for two seats so why the need to vote.  1st it is always important to vote.  2nd it shows the board that the homeowners care about what the board does and is paying attention to what they are doing even if you can't show up to meetings.

If you have any questions please let me know and thanks for voting,

Jason Fried

Re: Enjoy the sunset with your neighbors.

Jason - you're a Shakespearean poet.

I won't be able to make it tonight, but I'm fired up on WineDown Thursdays now that the sun is setting later.

Hey fellow Merchant neighbors;

I know the time change can be a real drag with the lose of 1 hour of sleep in the morning.  But it has an upside now when we get home the sun is still out and we are now getting great sunsets after hopefully you are home.  It has been a while so lets restart the occasional occurrence of Wine on the Roof Thursdays to celebrate the time change, good weather, and even better neighbors.  The sun is official setting just after 7pm these days so if you can come up to the roof deck at around 6:45-7 to catch the sunset and catch up with your neighbors.  For those getting home on the shuttle or other means after that time just come up when you get home.

Remember this is San Francisco so you are encouraged to bring a layer with you since once the sun goes down it can get a little chilly.  Bring what you like... your favorite thing to drink, some food if you like, a camera and most importantly YOU!

Hope to see you tomorrow night, Thursday March 16.

2 Upcoming community meetings you may want to attend.

Hey Shipyard Neighbors,

I have learned about two community meetings coming up that have information that pertains to things going on.

The 1st is the Mayors Shipyard CAC is meeting on Monday.  See details in the below email on time and location.  I personally can not make this so if anybody else can please do so.  On the agenda are the following presentations.

A. Presentation on temporary activation uses for Hunters Point Shipyard Phase 1 Block 1…..La Shon Walker (FivePoint)

B. Update on Southeast Treatment Plant, specifically the Headworks and Biosolids project, upcoming draft EIR for Biosolids, architecture for both projects, and possible construction impacts for both projects.……………............. Marsha Maloof (SFPUC)

C. Presentation on design for Candlestick Point Block 6A, a mixed-use development consisting of 128 for-sale condominiums, including 12 townhomes, 13 affordable units and 16,000 SF of commercial space. Block 6A is located between Candlestick Park Drive North and 7th street on Harney Way in the Candlestick Point South development area and on design for Candlestick Point Block 8A, a mixed-use development consisting of 127 for-sale condominiums, including 12 townhomes, 13 affordable units and 17,200 SF of commercial space. Block 8A is located between 7th street and 8th street on Harney Way in the Candlestick Point South development area. ………………………………………………………………………………………………. Faye Brandin (FivePoint)

D. SF Connect Presentation and workshop on the future of Transportation in San Francisco. The presentation will provide an overview and be a discussion of the 50-year vision for transportation in San Francisco…………………… Peter Albert (SF Planning Dept.)

For those newer to our group the CAC does lots of things outside of the shipyard but deals mainly with this items that pertain with the future development of the shipyard and candlestick point.  They have open seats so if you have time I would encourage you to attend the meeting and consider joining.

The 2nd meeting will be about the plans for the Northside Park (the new park still in planning on Donahue street between the current construction parking lot and the water) taking place April 4 at 6pm at the Bayview Opera House.  I got my hands on a presentation they did last week that seems to be a good design in  my opinion.  They are going with mostly "passive" use areas but the one thing I see as a possible issue is they have no off lease dog area.  Even if you have no dogs it still helps to keep things calmer when there are off leash dog areas in a park this size so those with dogs can have a good place to play.  If you have an interest in the future of this park please attend.

If you have any questions let me know,

Jason Fried
