Possible approvals on Block 1 – Your action is needed

Fellow Merchant Owners:

On Tuesday at 1pm the Office of Community Investment and Infrastructure (OCII) will be having its meeting on Block 1, this is the open area at the Corner of Innes and Donahue across the street from the Merchant Building and where the Security trailer has been located.

Here is how to watch the meeting:

WATCH LIVE ON SFGOVTV: https://sfgovtv.org/ccii

(The video stream will be live approximately 5 minutes before the scheduled meeting start time.)

And if you want to make comment on it you need to call in here:

PUBLIC COMMENT CALL-IN: 1-415-655-0001 ACCESS CODE: 146 131 0665 Press #, then # again to enter the call.

(In order to avoid streaming delays, call the Public Comment line to listen to the live meeting.)

While it is great to tune in and watch, it is even more important to call in and make public comment asking them to delay this project.

Two big things you may want to talk about would be:

1. They need to lower the height of the building along Donahue, they have plenty of usable air space in the middle of the development to still get the same amount of units they have. 451 Donahue street, the building directly across from this development "steps back" from Donahue, they should do the same for this new development.

2. We have asked the developer to agree to not limit traffic on Innes during morning commute hours to make sure those who need to get to work can do so without any delays so they are not late to work. All they have said is they will follow the general cities rules and not agree to any side community benefits. The issue with this is Innes is the major artery of traffic, including MUNI line #19, for the shipyard. We all have to pass this area. While right now most people work from home by the time this project breaks ground hopefully COVID will be a thing of the past and many people will need to get to there place of work. We need special arrangement for this project or risk having those of us that live here late to work.

There are of course other items that can be discussed these just seemed like the biggest 2 to me.

Merchant HOA committee on Security issues for our building

Fellow Merchant Condo Homeowners,

I am sending this out to all my fellow Merchant homeowners for whom I have email address for, if you are no longer a homeowner or know the email of new homeowner please pass them on to me.

At the last Condo HOA meeting the Board approved the formation of a committee to review and come up with a plan to deal with the security issues of our building, mainly the Friedell side fence height and the possible frosting, or something like that, of the windows by the mailboxes so people on the street can't see packages sitting on the ground.  If you are interested and able to serve on this committee please let me know.  I will send out a doodle poll for those interested to find a good time to meet soon.
