Another chance for a Summer Wine on the Roof Thursday

Hey Merch gang,

I may be late October but with weather like this it seems to me to be a nice night to hang out with your neighbors. So if you are around on Thursday night come to the roof at 6:30 or whenever you get home to enjoy your neighbors.  Forecast is a nice night with high 60's - low 70's temps with light wind, of course the wind is for the area so will see how it is on the roof.

Hi all,

Just a heads up for anyone that lives at 555 Innes.  The garage door was wide open as of a half hour ago.  I live at 570 and walked across the street to manually close it and as soon as I walked in it started to close.  Probably not a big deal but wanted to give a heads up as in the earlier days of living here our garage door had malfunctioned before as well.  Might be something to keep an eye on.

Hello Kathryn.  Our next meeting will feature Captain Vaswani of the Bayview police department (or one of his officers).  I've been working with Adam Cuadra with the SF SAFE team and Lennar on a meeting date.  We have narrowed down 3 dates below, and are waiting for Captain Vaswani to get back to us. Based on recent experience and other events, it appears that we will have much to discuss at the next meeting.  As soon as I get confirmation, I will book the meeting and send a communication.

I turned back around and kept walking 30 seconds later he jumped at me and tried to grab my cell phone out of my hands. I held on to the phone but he ripped the ear buds off of me and ran up the hill up Griffith street. He was with 2 other 20 year olds and they ran into a house at the top of the hill. I called the police, reported this and drove with the police to identify the house that they ran into. Here is a pic I took as he ran away.

It has been a while since we have done a Wine on the Roof Thursday.  With fall starting we may not get a change to do this in a while and we should also celebrate the opening of our new Gym.  So special guest Greg Courssa (invited) will be there as our honored person of the night since he chaired the committee and let the charge to get us a gym, with lots of help of course from those who served on the committee.  (All gym committee members who attend will get an honorable mention.)  So come to the roof at 6:30 (or whenever you get home) to watch a sunset and hang with your neighbors on Thursday and hopefully Greg will teach us all how to get ripped, then take us to the gym to get a ripped again.

Shipyard Neighborhood Watch Meeting: Update / Next Meeting in Nov

All:

We had Oct 19th set as our second neighborhood watch meeting with a representative from the Bayview police department as the featured guest.  However, we were not able to secure the Welcome center vecause of turnover on Lennar's side (Via Kirkwood) and Jillian Fiske's not being available.  So we will have to re-schdule.  I'm working with Jillian and the SF SAFE team to get some dates for sometime during the first 2 weeks of November. I will keep you posted.

I am sorry to hear about what happened over the weekend. It was great to hear that you were able to have SFPD attend you. We will discuss personal safety and how to un-target yourself in our upcoming meeting. 

 

I have been in talks with Captain Vaswani and he should be getting back to us by the first week in October. Right now, it is looking like Wednesday, October 18^th is going to be the date, but nothing is set in stone.

Hello Kathryn.  Our next meeting will feature Captain Vaswani of the Bayview police department (or one of his officers).  I've been working with Adam Cuadra with the SF SAFE team and Lennar on a meeting date.  We have narrowed down 3 dates below, and are waiting for Captain Vaswani to get back to us. Based on recent experience and other events, it appears that we will have much to discuss at the next meeting.  As soon as I get confirmation, I will book the meeting and send a communication.   

 

• Thursday, October 12th beginning at 6:00 PM or 7:00 PM
• Wednesday, October 18th beginning at 6:00 PM or 7:00 PM
• Thursday, October 19th beginning at 6:00 PM or 7:00 PM

At about 2:30pm today I was walking down Innes with my phone in my hand and listening to music with earbuds. I turned around to find a male in his 20's about 6 foot walking close behind me.. I turned back around and kept walking 30 seconds later he jumped at me and tried to grab my cell phone out of my hands. I held on to the phone but he ripped the ear buds off of me and ran up the hill up Griffith street. He was with 2 other 20 year olds and they ran into a house at the top of the hill. I called the police, reported this and drove with the police to identify the house that they ran into. Here is a pic I took as he ran away.
