Hey fellow Merahant residents,
I just saw that the Mayor's Hunters Point Shipyard Citizens Advisory Committee (CAC) is having its meeting on Monday, June 11th at 6pm. It is at the South East Community Facility, 1800 Oakdale Ave. On its agenda is "Block 1 Update from Tabernacle Group."
Block 1 is the lot directly across Donahue Street from us. For those who live along Donahue Street this will be what you see out your window once built for as long as you live here. For those not on Donahue Street, well if you like what you see from the roof deck this could impact you as well. I have no clue what is being proposed but if we want to have a say in what it is we need to show up to this meeting. We need as many people as possible to give public comment on this item to let the developer know they need to sit down and talk with us so we get a building that works for them and us.
I am going to try to make it for part of the meeting but not likely able to be there for the full meeting so please go if you can and report back what you hear.
